The Project:
ATON provided professional environmental services for the U.S. Air Force located at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. We were retained by the 375th Air Mobility Wing to investigate contamination at the Instrument Landing System (ILS) Outer Marker Site. The project involved collecting and analyzing soil samples, providing laboratory results, disposal of investigative derived wastes (IDW), and providing supporting field notes and documentation. Soil samples were tested for polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), Pesticides/Herbicides, Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds (SVOCs) and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). ATON ensured compliance with Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) requirements identified by the current version of the Department of Defense (DoD) Quality Systems Manual (QSM) and performed the work under strict compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, Scott AFB installation safety requirements, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Requirements Manuals, EM 385-1-4.
