ATON serves as a consultant and a certified vendor for the BASF Corporation, a Germany-based chemical company and the largest chemical producer in the world.
ATON provided asbestos consulting services and environmental oversight during the demolition of a Palmyra, MO based power plant. Prior to demolition, ATON performed a regulated hazardous building materials inspection, which included extensive sampling for asbestos containing materials (ACM), lead-based paint (LBP), and the identification of hazardous and universal waste. During oversight of the abatement and demolition of the power plant, ATON provided daily on-site consulting services, which included air monitoring, confirmation of proper ACM removal and disposal, final clearance inspections and air sampling, and ongoing testing for ACM.
Additional services have included industrial hygiene (IH) monitoring for a BASF’s St. Louis chemical and pesticide blending and packaging facilities. These services include employee noise exposure monitoring, and employee air monitoring for particulates, silica, methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI), and fipronil. ATON also prepared a Limited Phase II Subsurface Investigation (LSI) to determine any potential impacts to on-site surface and subsurface soils related to historical site use of aboveground storage tanks (ASTs). Additionally, ATON has supported BASF with air and water permitting and reporting services, OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) consulting, and EPA Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plan preparation and management.
