Commercial Liability Partners (CLP) purchased the former Dynegy Midwest Generation’s retired coal-fired power plant in East Alton, Illinois in the fall of 2019.
The Wood River Power Plant included two coal-fueled units that began operations in 1954 and 1964. The closure of the site was announced in 2015 and the power station officially ceased operations the following year.

Ron Froh said when the announcement was made, “We look forward to working with local officials and the Illinois EPA to discuss plans and timelines for environmental remediation and ultimately the redevelopment potential at the site.”
